How do I install my DayGlo inkjet cartridge?

HP cartridges
  1. Pull the plastic wrapping off the cartridge tray and remove the cartridge.
  2. Remove the clip attached to your cartridge by pulling the clip away from the cartridge. SAVE the clip, you may need it later.
  3. Install the cartridge in the printer by following the directions in your printer's manual.
  4. After installation, you will need to perform at least one cleaning cycle to prime your cartridge and to adjust for a difference in ink. Cleaning cycles help to clear the print heads of any debris (like dust or dry ink) and ensure that the ink inside the cartridge is flowing properly. Please refer to the user's manual of your printer for instructions on cleaning cycles.

Canon cartridges

  1. Leave printer on and pull open the printer door to expose the cartridge.
    Note: The cartridge holder will automatically slide toward the center of the printer.
  2. Flip the blue switch to the right of the cartridge holder up in order to release the cartridge holder.
  3. Pull up on the cartridge holder to remove it from the printer.
  4. Pull back on the appropriate cartridge in order to remove it from the cartridge holder.
  5. Take new cartridge out of the vacuum packed plastic bag.
  6. Remove the red plastic coating from the bottom of your new cartridge.
  7. Place the new cartridge in the vacant spot in your cartridge holder.
  8. Push forward on the cartridge until it clips into the cartridge holder.
  9. Place the cartridge holder into the printer and push down the blue lever to secure the cartridge holder.
  10. Close the printer door.
  11. After installation, you will need to perform at least one cleaning cycle to prime your cartridge and to adjust for a difference in ink. Cleaning cycles help to clear the print heads of any debris (like dust or dry ink) and ensure that the ink inside the cartridge is flowing properly. Please refer to the user's manual of your printer for instructions on cleaning cycles.

Epson cartridge

  1. Turn on printer and open the cover
  2. Press the button on your printer that has a picture of ink droplets next to it for 5 seconds (these buttons may also be separate for black and color cartridges). The cartridge holder should move to the middle of the printer.
  3. Open the holder containing the black or color cartridge you intend to replace by pulling up the blue clip.
  4. Remove the cartridge from the outer wrapping it was shipped in.
  5. Tear off the tape attached to the top of the cartridge. Note: only the area around the pull-tab should be removed while pulling that tape. This will expose a groove in the cartridge that ensures proper airflow.
  6. Take the used cartridge out of the printer and insert the new cartridge with the label facing.
  7. Close the cartridge holder clamp.
  8. Press the ink droplet button on your printer again and close the printer cover.
  9. After installation, you will need to perform at least one cleaning cycle to prime your cartridge and to adjust for a difference in ink. Cleaning cycles help to clear the print heads of any debris (like dust or dry ink) and ensure that the ink inside the cartridge is flowing properly.   10. If all the colors are printing, please refer to your owner's manual regarding cleaning cycles.

Epson 3000/5000

  1. Place the black cleaning cartridge in the slot that holds the black cartridge.
  2. Print 20 pages of solid black with the cleaning cartridge installed. This page can easily be created using Microsoft Excel.
  3. Remove the black cleaning cartridge.
  4. Install your DayGlo black cartridge.
  5. Print 20 pages of solid black
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 for each color.
  7. It is recommended that you run a nozzle check. If there are any missing lines from this test, you should perform a head cleaning cycle.
